Our institution / school is connected to eduroam
eduroam is an international project dedicated to promoting mobility and roaming in national research and education networks (NREN). In the Czech Republic, this project is covered by CESNET. Our school / institution joined the project in 2019. This was another step towards improving the quality of the institution's study and prestige.

One account. Anywhere.
A registered subscriber can use this wireless network (wherever available) using a single user account. Account management is done by the home organization.

The use of roaming is simple, the subscriber's properly set up device connects automatically when the eduroam network is available. Similar to the connection to roaming networks of mobile operators abroad. Hence the acronym: education roaming.

The service is free for all participants.

Activating eduroam account
Eduroam uses a username consisting of two parts - the username itself and the realm. For the user name you are accustomed to from other school / institution systems, you will add @ and realm realm.com as part of roaming. You will also need to set your eduroam password before roaming.

Setting up user devices to connect to eduroam
For a secure connection to eduroam, it is not enough just to enter a name and password. You must also set up a certificate check, it is easiest to do it with eduroam CAT, see documentation at eduroam.com.

For manual setup, you'll need the following information:

connection protocol: 802.1x
authentication: PEAP (alternatively TTLS)
name of RADIUS server: radius.realm.cz
The IP address is assigned automatically via DHCP
Covered spaces
eduroam is broadcast in all school classrooms, with the exception of kindergarten. Access to the campus is open from 08:00 to 14:00 from September to the end of June following agreement with school management.

Traffic filtering
School pupils are filtered in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic.

Visitors do not interfere with traffic except for outgoing SMTP traffic (TCP / 25), use SMTPS (TCP / 465) or Submision (TCP / 587) to send mail.

Support
Our school / institution users can contact zshrabenov@seznam.cz or phone +420 739 013 662.

Visitors with an eduroam account should seek support primarily for their home institutions, ie the one they have. account.
